About COMPA
The Committee of Methadone Program Administrators, Inc. (COMPA) of new York State is a not-for-profit coalition representing the State's methadone treatment providers and other interested organizations and individuals. COMPA's members serve over 43,000 opiate addicted persons and their families in 126 licensed methadone treatment facilities throughout the State. COMPA's mission is to further the treatment of opiate addiction and other substance abuse disorders in order to address the medical, social and psychological consequences of addiction, prevent the proliferation of HIV and other infectious diseases, reduce criminal behavior, encourage employment and self-sufficiency, and support patients' return to a healthy, productive lifestyle. COMPA is a member of the American Methadone Treatment Association and of the Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers of New York State.
