Register Today: ASAP Cultural Diversity Committee Conference – May 6, 2011 NYC  
There are only 2 days left to register for the ASAP Cultural Diversity Conference, “Respecting Differences, Achieving Peace.” The program will feature a keynote speech from OASAS Commissioner Arlene Gonzalez-Sanchez.  Please get your registrations in as soon as possible as space is limited and registrations are filling up quickly.  The program is a fantastic educational opportunity for you and your staff and, in addition to the Commissioner, includes:
Key Note Speaker:  Dr. Frances L. Brisbane, Dean and Professor of the School of Social Welfare, State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her keynote address will include her perspectives on chemical dependence, language and cultural competence.
Afternoon Plenary: Ron Chism, Co-founder of The People's Institute for Survival and Beyond and a senior fellow of Ashoka's Global Academy, a program for men and women seeking solutions for the world's most urgent social problems.  This presentation will explore our understanding of what racism is, where it comes from, how it functions, why it persists and how it can be undone.
Closing Ceremony - Healing Circle: Zuben Ornelas. The healing circle is a conduit through which human beings may freely open themselves to the “Universal Good Mind” guided by ancient natural law.
