As an experienced financial manager, Sudhakar Duvoor believes that having a deep understanding and involvement in all operational areas of an enterprise, is essential to being a successful Chief Financial Officer.
After obtaining a degree in Accounting in 1976, Mr. Duvoor underwent two years of public accounting training. During this time, he was involved in taxation work for various clients in real estate, manufacturing, chemical, printing, banking and entertainment. Subsequent to this, Mr. Duvoor completed one year of internal audit work.
In 1981, Mr. Duvoor completed his Chartered Accountancy and joined Durametallic (India) Ltd, a manufacturer of mechanical seals. During his time there, he was exposed to financial management and cost accounting. He was instrumental in instituting a branch cash management system and developing a material costing system.
After relocating to the United States in 1984, Mr. Duvoor worked in Public Accounting for two years heavily focused on not-for-profit audits. He later joined START Treatment & Recovery Centers as an Assistant Controller. In 1990, Mr. Duvoor completed the Certified Public Accountancy. He progressed to Vice President of Finance prior to being appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2012.
Mr. Duvoor is responsible for monitoring the overall financial management systems for the organization while also ensuring that START remains compliant with various government health agencies and patient service grant contracts.
